Wooden clock “House of Roses” deco scrap! The term deco scrap is probably a Greek invention which means that we use scrapbooking paper as if we had decoupage paper.. In Greece decoupage was the King of creation for years but lately it seems like everyone is looking for something new. I am a strong believer that creators give value to the materials and not the other way. I love decoupage technics and I think it is always more interesting when you know how to combine different mediums.
Ξύλινο ρολόι “House of Roses” decoscrap! Ο όρος decoscrap πιθανόν είναι Ελληνική εφεύρεση και σημαίνει ότι διαχειρίζομαι τα χαρτιά scrapbooking σχεδόν όπως αν είχα χαρτιά decoupage για να διακοσμήσω. Στην Ελλάδα εδώ και πολλά χρόνια το decoupage ήταν ο Βασιλιάς της χειροτεχνίας αλλά τον τελευταίο καιρό ο κόσμος φαίνεται να ψάχνει νέες τεχνικές. Πιστεύω ακράδαντα ότι ο δημιουργός δίνει αξία στα υλικά και όχι το αντίθετο. Αγαπώ το decoupage και τις τεχνικές του και πιστεύω ότι το αποτέλεσμα μπορεί να έχει μεγαλύτερο ενδιαφέρον όταν συνδυάζεις δημιουργικά μέσα.
The colors that I used it is bright pink for the background and vintage pink for stenciling. /Το ρολόι ξεκίνησε με ένα αρκετά ροζ χρώμα για φόντο και ένα κοντινό του πιο vintage για να κάνω στενσιλ. 
The next step is to cut the design of the scrapbook paper preferable with a pair of scissors for fuzzy cutting. /Επόμενο βήμα να κόβουμε ιδανικά με ένα πολύ καλό ψαλίδι για λεπτομέριες το σχέδιο από το χαρτί.
In this project, I had an MDF wooden clock so I had to gesso the surface first. I choose pink bright color for the background and vintage pink for stenciling. I cut the design of the clock out of the scrapbook paper and I used scrapbooking glue to adhere it on the wooden surface.
Το ρολόι είναι από MDF ξύλο οπότε ξεκίνησα ασταρώνοντας την επιφάνεια πρώτα. Για φόντο χρησιμοποίησα ένα φωτεινό ροζ χρώμα και ένα πιο vintage για να κάνω στένσιλ. Στην συνέχεια έκοψα το σχέδιο του ρολογιού από το χαρτί του scrapbooking και το κόλλησα με κόλλα scrapbooking.

As well as the rest of of the decorations like the butterflies. 
Όπως και τα άλλα διακοσμητικά όπως οι πεταλούδες.
The paper that I used to decorate the clock is from the “House of Roses” collection by Stamperia. It was one of the two papers that were left from the collection when I made the Scrapbooking album box “Roses”. I also used some die cuts from the same collection to fill the space at the bottom of the clock.
Το χαρτί που χρησιμοποίησα για την διακόσμηση του ρολογιού είναι από την συλλογή “House of Roses” collection by Stamperia. Ήταν ένα από τα δύο χαρτιά που δεν είχα χρησιμοποιήσει όταν έφτιαξα το Scrapbooking album box “Roses”. Για να γεμίσω τον χώρο στο κάτω μέρος του ρολογιού χρησιμοποίησα και κάποια κομμάτια από τα die cuts της ίδιας συλλογής.

The die cuts are thicker from the paper and helps to give depth to the project. / Τα die cuts είναι από χοντρό χαρτόνι και δίνουν την αίσθηση του βάθους στο έργο.
I wanted a more antiqued result so I used burnt sienna oil color all over the project- not the paper- and with a baby wipe, I removed most of it. For the shadow details, I used a brown brush marker. I hope that with these projects you may see your in your leftover scrapbooking papers a different perspective.
Το ρολόι μου ήθελα να μοιάζει παλαιωμένο οπότε πέρασα όλα τα σημεία που φαινόταν ακόμα το ξύλο με λάδι χρώματος burnt sienna και με ένα μωρομάντηλο αφαίρεσα το περισσότερο. Για τις λεπτομέρειες και τις σκιάσεις χρησιμοποίησα καφέ μαρκαδόρο. Ελπίζω με αυτά τα έργα να σας βοηθήσω να δείτε τα χαρτιά που σας έχουν περισσέψει με καλύτερες προοπτικές!!
